SIQUIJOR
Siquijor, also known as the Province of Siquijor (Cebuano: Lalawigan sa Siquijor; Tagalog: Lalawigan ng Siquijor), is an island province in the Negros Island Region of the Philippines. It is the third smallest province in the nation in terms of both population and land area [4]. The municipality of Siquijor serves as both its capital and largest town. The province is located north of Mindanao, southwest of Bohol, southeast of Negros Oriental, and south of Cebu.
Because of the fireflies that swarmed the molave, the Spanish called Siquijor the Isla del Fuego (Island of Fire) during their colonial era in the Philippines.
