ORIENTAL MINDORO

Located on the island of Mindoro in the Mimaropa area of Luzon, approximately 140 kilometers (87 miles) southwest of Manila, lies the province of Oriental Mindoro (Tagalog: Silangang Mindoro), also known as the Province of Oriental Mindoro (Tagalog: Lalawigan ng Silangang Mindoro (Oriental Mindoro)). Occidental Mindoro borders the province on the west, Semirara and the rest of the Caluya Islands and Antique to the south, Marinduque, Maestre de Campo (officially called Sibale but officially called Concepcion) Island, Tablas Strait, and the rest of Romblon to the east, and the Verde Island Passage and the rest of Batangas to the north. The most populous city in the province and the regional hub of Mimaropa is Calapan, the provincial capital and the only city on the island.
