OCCIDENTAL MINDORO

The Philippine province of Occidental Mindoro is situated in the Mimaropa area. The province is located in the island of Mindoro's western side. Although San Jose is the most populated municipality, Mamburao serves as its capital. With a total area of over half the province, Sablayan is the largest municipality in the province. There are 525,354 people living in Occidental Mindoro as of 2020.

The Mindoro Strait borders the province on the south, while the province of Oriental Mindoro borders it on the east. To the southwest, across the Mindoro Strait, is Palawan, and to the west of the province is the South China Sea. The Verde Island Passage, a protected marine region and the hub of the global marine environment, divides Batangas to the north.
