MASBATE

The Philippine island province of Masbate, also known as the Province of Masbate (Masbateño: Probinsya san Masbate; Tagalog: Lalawigan ng Masbate), is situated close to the center of the country's archipelago. Masbate City, the province's most populated city, serves as its provincial capital. The three main islands that make up the province are Masbate, Ticao, and Burias.

Masbate is situated where the Visayas and Luzon island groupings converge. In the latter, it is politically a part of the Bicol Region. Nonetheless, Masbate falls into the former category from a socio-ethno-linguistic and bio-geographic standpoint.
