MARINDUQUE

Officially known as the Province of Marinduque, Marinduque is an island province in the Philippines that is situated in the Southwestern Tagalog Region or Mimaropa, formerly known as Region IV-B. The municipality of Boac, the province's most populous municipality, serves as its capital. Marinduque is situated between the Sibuyan Sea to the south and Tayabas Bay to the north. It is located north of the island province of Romblon, east of Mindoro Island, and west of the Bondoc Peninsula in Quezon province in mainland Luzon. The provincial seas of Marinduque also contain portions of the Verde Island Passage, which is a protected marine area and the epicenter of marine life worldwide.
