DAVAO ORIENTAL
Davao Oriental is a province situated in the Philippines, specifically in the Davao Region of Mindanao. The city of Mati, which has the highest population, serves as the capital, and it is bordered by Davao de Oro to the west and Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur to the north. This province is recognized as the traditional homeland of the Mandaya and Kalagan/Kaagan peoples.
As the easternmost province in the Philippines, Davao Oriental features Pusan Point in the municipality of Caraga as its furthest east point. The Philippine Sea, which is a part of the Pacific Ocean, lies to the east of Davao Oriental. A section of the province is located on an unnamed peninsula that surrounds the Davao Gulf to the west.
The province is the leading producer of coconuts and copra in the nation, which has earned it the designation of Coconut Capital of the Philippines. It also houses the Mount Hamiguitan Wildlife Sanctuary, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
