CAPIZ
The Philippine province of Capiz is situated in the center of the Western Visayas area. The most populated city, Roxas, serves as its capital. Situated in the northeastern part of Panay Island, it has borders with Iloilo to the south, Aklan to the north, and Antique to the west. To the north, Capiz faces the Sibuyan Sea.
Placuna placenta oyster shells, which are used for ornamentation and to make lampshades, trays, doors, and capiz-shell windows, are the reason for Capiz's local name. Capiz is also home to the renowned coral-stone Santa Mónica Church in the town of Panay, which has the largest Catholic Church bell in Asia. The province is referred to as the "Seafood Capital of the Philippines" and was ranked in the top 15 most visited destinations in the Philippines. The townspeople gave seventy bags of gold and silver money to make the bell. The Panay bell, which stands five feet tall and seven feet in diameter and weighs 10,400 kilograms, or slightly more than 10 metric tons, is a renowned tourist attraction in Capiz.
